Products and Services

KD Driver Training offers courses and training to both new drivers and drivers who may have many years of experience. We believe that driver safety and education can, and should be a life long process to ensure the safety of the community in which we live.

New Driver Courses

KD Driver Training provides a Ministry of Transportation-Approved Beginner Driver Education Course. The course consists of both in-car and classroom components. Upon successful completion of the course, the student will receive a MTO-Approved Beginner Driver Education Student Record for the purposes of insurance and licensing obligations. Please contact your insurance company for more information about insurance discounts available to drivers who complete New Driver Courses.

In-Car Instruction

The in-car portion of course consists of at least twelve hours of mostly one on one instruction - two hours more than what is required by the Ministry of Transportation. We believe in providing students with a personalized in-car experience, that is individually tailored to meet the needs of students with different backgrounds and learning styles, both teenagers and adults. The students are picked up from school/home - parents do not have to transport students to a central pick up area. The in-car portion will not be completed in less than six weeks - practice time is very important!

Students are free to learn in a non-threating environment where learning and safety are the number on priorities and not simply providing students with the minimum knowledge required to pass the Ministry of Transportation testing. Our driver education training consists of both rural and city driving environments. Students will experience approximately seven hours of local driving, including 401, and approximately five hours of city driving, including downtown.

Classroom Education

The classroom component of the driver education course consists of twenty-eight hours of instruction, both including and going beyond the requirements of the Ministry of Transportation. In the classroom component students learn:

Whenever possible guest lecturers in class include an OPP constable and an alcohol- awareness counsellor.

For new drivers that want driving instruction, but do not wish to take the full course, please see our individualized services section.

Courses are run on a regular basis throughout the year. Check our course schedule for the next available course.

Courses for Experienced Drivers

For assisting the experienced driver, KD Driver Training offers refresher lessons and driver assessments. We can help drivers who are "city driving shy" become more comfortable driving in the city.

Individualized Services

KD Driver Training offers many customized services. These services may include in-car, classroom or both services for individuals or groups/companies.

Services range from basic driving lessons for new drivers that want instruction but do not wish to participate in the full course, to lessons for seniors who want a short refresher. KD Driver Training also offers individual driver assessments.
